Santa Cruz (7/28/12)
Brad & Jackie invited us to join them in Santa Cruz & why not
especially since it was Riley's birthday weekend.
SANTA CRUZ OR BUST!
It took us FOREVER to get to Santa Cruz due to an accident
& it being such nice weather that everyone had the same great idea as us.
Once we got there though we loaded up the stroller
until it couldn't hold anymore (no Daxton is not in his seat)
& headed for the beach.
We were able to get a perfect spot by the water since Jackie's mom & sisters were already there.
This was Daxton's 1st time to the ocean.
He wasn't a big fan.
Chase, on the other hand, was chomping at the bit to get into the water.
No fear!
No fear!
We forgot Riley's swimsuit, but thankfully had an extra pair of shorts for him to change into later.
He freaked my out a little because he was super comfortable & kept going in deeper & deeper.
He ended up playing in the waves a lot.
The boys made sand castles.
Had snacks.
(I can totally see them as teenagers in this picture)
Daxton played on the blanket & got upset every time he touched sand.
We had such a fun time on the beach.
We rinsed off & switched clothes & then headed back to the boardwalk for some rides.
Riley really wanted to ride the sky gliders.
We did some roller coasters.
Funny Story:
Chase was having so much fun that he forgot until the last minute to tell me he had to go potty.
I rushed him to the bathroom only to find the womens line out the door.
He started to panic & pee his shorts so I just picked him up, stuck him over a drain
behind a bench & let him finish. I got so many stares but what else was there to do?
Thankfully we had extra clothes for Chase to change into.
Back to rides we went.
Max & Chase surprised us on how well they did considering we stayed until 10pm.
They were seriously having a blast!
Daxton didn't last.
Riley is a total thrill seeker when it comes to rides.
I am not & Josh doesn't do well with spinning rides.
Thankfully Riley had Brad to take him.
Here they are on Cliff Hanger.
& Fireball.
We shared a huge funnel cake to pass the time
& then we headed out.
Even Chase couldn't last any longer.
Such a fun day.
Such a long day.
Such a memorable day.
