Fred

Yesterday at preschool the kids learned about ladybugs and were given one. Riley named his Fred. We went over to Josh's parent's house for lunch and Riley talked about his ladybug. I then explained to him that it would be better if we let Fred go live in Grandma's backyard instead of in a cup where he would probably die. Riley was completly torn. He wanted to keep his ladybug so that he could see it everyday, but he didn't want it to die. It was hard for him, but he finally made the better decision in letting Fred go live in Grandma's backyard. It was so sad as my 4 1/2 year old tried to hold back tears and say goodbye to his ladybug. Even though it's just a ladybug I was so proud that he made such an unselfish decision.

That is so sweet. The look on his face says it all. Mother's get that..... it's the look of worry and sadness. So cute.

Hey Riley we are so proud of you for making a good choice with Fred. Do you know he will help The Garden stay Healthy?
